On February 2, at 9:23 p.m., in El Centro, in the 1200 block of El Centro Avenue, a reporting party called authoritie­s regarding a Hispanic male adult allegedly coming out of his upstairs apartment with a chainsaw and knocking on the RP’s door, according to El Centro Police Department logs. Per the logs, the subject was possibly under the influence and was in front of the reporting party’s house before calling the police department. The subject allegedly told the reporting party, “I can’t wait for you to come home so I can use this on you” as the subject was allegedly holding a chainsaw and approached the front door, allegedly turning on the chainsaw while making threats, per the ECPD logs. The subject, Daniel Acuna, was arrested and booked at Imperial County Jail for making threats and brandishin­g a deadly weapon.

On February 3, at 3:50 p.m.,

a skimming device was found at a bank in El Centro, according to El Centro Police Department logs. A skimming device is an illegally installed device that is installed on ATMs or fuel pumps to take cardholder’s PIN informatio­n. The reporting party advised security that they found the device attached to the bank’s drive up ATM, per the logs. Security requested the police department to retrieve the found property and a report was made.

On February 3, at 6:06 p.m.,

on the 700 block of N. 12th Street, a reporting party called authoritie­s in regards to a Hispanic male adult allegedly entering a dance studio asking to use the restroom, allegedly continuing to look at the child dancers and insisting on going into the classrooms, according to the El Centro Police Department logs. The subject left the premises, however a second reporting party called authoritie­s stating a man was allegedly outside residence hitting RP’s windows and yelling about sex traffickin­g on the 1400 block of Euclid Avenue, per the logs. The subject was contacted and was advised of trespassin­g from the studio and a report was taken. No further informatio­n was reported.

February 4 - Nothing to report. On February 5 at 10:06 a.m.,

on the 900 block of W. State Street in El Centro, a reporting party called authoritie­s in reference to allegedly seeing a subject in the area walking eastbound who appeared to be holding a rifle, according to El Centro Police Department logs. The subject was said to be wearing a black face covering, per the logs. Additional reporting parties called authoritie­s in regards to seeing a possible black male adult carrying a gun in the Habit Grill area of S. 4th Street, per the logs. The subject was contacted in reference to walking with a BB gun. According to the logs, the subject agreed to give the BB gun over to police, was issued a property receipt and sent on his way.

On February 6, at 5:10 p.m.,

a reporting party called authoritie­s requesting to speak to an officer regarding the guardian finding subjects allegedly selling drugs to their child through an app called ‘Telegram’, according to El Centro Police Department logs. The reporting party wanted to make a report that a page on the app was allegedly selling marijuana to juveniles at a middle school. Per the logs, a follow up will be needed and no further informatio­n was reported.
