“It’s everyone’s favorite childhood memory,” she said of the Carrot Festival.

The theme for the

2024 Carrot Festival is “24 Carrot Festival – We Struck Gold!”

“We struck gold with carrots,” Allegranza said of the town’s history with the beta-carotene rich crop. “(Carrots have) been very precious and very symbolic to our town throughout the years.”

Allegranza said 167 vendors are set to adorn and sell a variety of foods and crafts at the Street Fair at Holt Avenue and Holt Park.

In addition, she said the 77th Annual Carrot Festival Parade will showcase 109 parade entries, including the Carrot Royalty, this year’s Grand Marshals, Tommy and Phyllis Leung, long-time owners of Pine Market, and Holtville’s Citizen of the Year, Helen Wilson.
