Miley’s Worst Nightmare Miley Cyrus finally won Liam Hemsworth back, but their relationship was quickly pushed to the brink

She didn’t waste any time. Just days after Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s December reconciliation, the 3.5-carat cushion-cut diamond engagement ring he first gave her in 2012 was firmly back on the pop star’s finger — and all over her Instagram page. “For Miley,” says a friend, “being engaged to Liam again was a dream come true.”

Now it’s turning into a nightmare. After weeks of drama with Liam and his family — the ring came off in mid-march only to reappear two weeks later — Miley, 23, is terrifiedeverything will go horriblywrong again and Liam will call off the wedding. “Even worse,” says the friend, “Miley fears he will wait until the last minute and dump her at the altar!”

Miley is pressuring Liam to walk down the aisle ASAP. “She wants nothing more than to get married. She needs this relationship to work,” says her friend. “She’s ready to settle down and she wants children with Liam. She’s saying she wants to have this beautiful wedding. She’s planning for it to happen as soon as this summer.”

She doesn’t want to give her critics — especially Liam’s family — the chance to come between them again. “Over the New Year’s holiday, when Miley and Liam reconciled and spent time with his family in Australia, they made her feel like she was back in their good graces,” explains a second pal. But after a few months of the engagement being back on, Liam’s family turned on Miley — and almost convinced Liam, 26, to leave her for good. “They started to scrutinize Miley’s every move. It absolutely crushed her,” adds the second pal, who says the Hemsworths are not fans of Miley’s wild antics or headline-making attention grabs. “Liam felt the pressure, started to pull away, and their relationship went into this limbo where every other week they were on a break.”

Now Miley is demanding that the Australian hunk tune out his loved ones. “She’s afraid that Liam will leave her because of the massive influence his family has over him. She prays every day that he isn’t lying to both his family and to her just to please everybody,” says the first friend. “So she’s made it clear to him that if this relationship is going to work, they are both going to have to ignore what their friends and family say.”

Miley is desperate for Liam to see things her way. “Him dumping her would put her into a very dark place mentally, emotionally and physically,” says the first friend. “If he leaves her, it will be years before she gets back on her feet. She will fall apart — and it will be ugly. She won’t be able to handle it.” ◼
