Jennifer Garner gets bombshell news just as she’s deciding the future of her marriage

Ben Affleck had everything he wanted as he turned 44 on Aug. 15. His kids — Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and Samuel, 4 — and their mom, Jennifer Garner, were all by his side for a weeklong family vacation at their condo at the Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Mont., where they enjoyed cake, hiking and plenty of playtime.

But Ben’s birthday wasn’t the only thing they were celebrating. Nearly 14 months after Jen, 44, and Ben confirmed plans to end their decadelong marriage, “Jen is telling her inner circle she’s having a baby, and that she’s happy about it but being cautious about reuniting with Ben,” an insider exclusively tells In Touch. “Ben is hoping another child will bring them back together as a family.”

A family trip to Europe last spring had some unintended consequences. “Jen and Ben conceived the baby while he was working on Justice League in London,” explains the insider. (A rep denies Jen is preg- nant.) “He and Jen had begun spending more time together romantically and Jen realized there was still a lot of love between the two of them.” Ben was also laying it on thick: “He knows how to turn on the charm, and Jen fell for it as they were away from the reminders of why their marriage broke down in California.”

Jen was stunned to find out she’s pregnant. “She wasn’t planning on having another baby, especially since her relationship with Ben was essentially on ice,” says the insider. Ben was shocked too — and thrilled. “He’s over the moon that Jen is pregnant again because in the past, they’ve been the closest after the birth of their children.”

The couple have yet to file for divorce. Ben agreed to go to couples therapy with her in 2015 following an alleged dalliance with their family nanny in the summer of that year. Now it’s do-ordie time for the Batman v Superman star. “Ben wants Jen to commit to putting the relationship back on track and to call off the divorce — it’s important to him that their children be raised in a family with two loving parents who aren’t divorced. But she isn’t ready to do that just yet,” says the insider. “She just wants to see if Ben is able to keep his promises.” ◼
