MILEY’S Troubling Performance
Miley Cyrus dressed like a rock star for her surprise appearance at the iheartradio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Sept. 23 — and seemed to be partying like one, too! “It was clear that something was off. Her face was so puffy and she was slurring a bit,” says a witness, adding that Miley — who joined Billy Idol, 60, onstage to perform “Rebel Yell” — struggled to keep up with the rock legend. “She forgot a few verses of the song and even pulled her in-ear microphone out. She seemed stoned out of her mind. It was sad.” But not entirely out of character. “Miley has told her friends that she drinks and smokes weed before she goes onstage because it relaxes her. She thinks it makes her more creative and enables her to give a better performance,” a pal says of the 23-year-old self-proclaimed stoner, who briefly quit partying this summer after reuniting with beau Liam Hemsworth, 26, but has slowly slipped back into her old ways. “People close to her are starting to worry that Miley is burning the candle at both ends — especially now that she’s filming The Voice. She just doesn’t have a stop button, which in her case, can be dangerous.”
