KATE’S FAMILY FAUX PAS

-

You’ll never guess why the Middletons are under fire!

British nobles have a long history with blood sports, but this has gone too far — Kate Middleton’s parents are being slammed for selling a Deluxe Roadkill Pet Costume for kids. The outfit, available on the Michael and Carole’s Party Pieces website, is basically a rabbit suit with wounds, tire marks and bloodshot eyes. “The roadkill costume is freaking out young children. I’ve spoken to a lot of parents [who] are considering not going trick-or-treating as their children are frightened,” said U.K. mom Isabel Brandon, who has a 2-year-old, while mom-of-two Jess Ashe complained, “I can’t believe some kids wear that sort of stuff — or that retailers think it is acceptable to make it. It’s shocking.” That includes Kate’s family. “It would appear they have overstepped the boundary of good taste and blundered dangerously into the territory signposted ‘extremely offensive,’” wrote Tim Butters in an inquisitr.com opinion piece. “The duchess is probably mortified.” Still, U.K. homeowners shouldn’t be surprised to find roadkill at their doorstep on Oct. 31 — the $15 getup is out of stock for children ages 10 to 12. (Suggested costume pairing: the 90-year-old queen behind the wheel of her beloved Land Rover.)
