STOP DRINKING OR GET OUT

Jen Warns Ben: Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have a blowup fight that ends in a stunning ultimatum

-

OVER IT “Jen won’t allow Ben to continue drinking and not do anything about it,” says a source.

DOWNWARD SPIRAL Jen wants Ben (in LA on Jan. 6) “to battle his demons once and for all,” says a source.

It looked like he’d had a rough night.

On Jan. 6, Ben Affleck stepped out of an SUV in LA looking like a shadow of his former heartthrob self: His hair was messy and graying, his eyes had heavy bags beneath them and his body — which not long ago was in top form for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice — was bloated.

There’s a reason he looked the way he did.

Ben, who famously went to rehab in 2001 for alcohol issues, is drinking again — and wife Jennifer Garner has had enough, a source tells In Touch exclusively. “Ben was drinking during his family’s Christmas getaway to Montana,” says the source. “He would begin drinking in the day, which is something he hasn’t done for a few years. It immediately set off alarm bells with Jen.” Upon returning home, Jen, 44, issued an ultimatum. “They had a fight and she told him that if he didn’t do something about his drinking,” adds the source, “she would force him to move out of the family house.” (The couple separated in June 2015 but continue to live together and have yet to file for divorce.) A source close to the couple says “they’re working together to better the family.”

Jen seems to be getting through to him.

On Jan. 5, the actor, 44, stepped out in LA with a woman (right) who was later identified as Elizabeth Weaver, a detox nurse–sober companion. An Affleck family friend insists she is not treating Ben. “He’s not in need of a sober coach,” says the family friend. “She’s working with someone in their family, not necessarily to detox but as a nurse.” Then the family friend added cryptically, “He’s not totally sober, but he doesn’t have a problem.”

Jen begs to differ.

“That’s why she gave him an ultimatum, and she’s serious about it,” says the source. “Now the rest is up to Ben.” ◼
