It’s a Boy & Gir for George & Amal! DADDY DUTY

Their baby dreams have come true! After two years of marriage, George & Amal Clooney are expecting twins

-

They had something to hide. On Jan. 9, George Clooney and his wife, Amal, attended a charity screening of George’s Netflix documentary, The White Helmets, in London. While the notoriously thin Amal (who reportedly wasn’t drinking) stunned in her loose-fitting Dolce & Gabbana dress, the billowy floral fabric also helped camouflage one very important accessory: a tiny baby bump.

But she won’t be able to cover it up for much longer. “Amal is pregnant with twins: a boy and a girl,” an insider close to the couple tells In Touch, revealing that the human-rights lawyer, 38, is almost four months along. “When George and Amal found out it was twins they were surprised, but also a little scared because they both had said that one was enough,” adds the insider. “But the news that it was a boy and a girl made them both really happy. They feel like they’ve hit the family jackpot.”

Especially (and surprisingly!) George. “He’s gone from never wanting to be a father to being totally excited about Amal’s pregnancy and the thought of raising two children who will call him Dad,” says the insider. “He’s been doting on Amal’s every need and talking to her belly. He’s also having a blast coming up with baby names.” George will choose something sentimental. “The name Nicholas, after his dad, Nick Clooney, is a shoo-in for his son,” adds the insider. “As far as girl names, he’s leaving that up to Amal.”

The same goes for godparents. “Amal will pick the godmothers,” says the insider, adding that one will definitely be her sister, Tala Alamuddin. “For godfathers, George’s choices are his longtime pal Richard Kind and his producing partner, Grant Heslov. He’s also considering [ his BFF and business partner] Rande Gerber. No matter who they pick, these babies are going to have the best life ever.”

As In Touch previously reported, George and Amal had a difficult time getting pregnant. “They had been trying for a baby all summer and it just wasn’t happening, so they sought the help of a fertility doctor and started in vitro fertilization,” says a source. But resorting to IVF was a difficult choice for the pair. “George has never had trouble doing anything in his life,” adds the source. “Plus, Amal is afraid of needles, so her biggest fear was getting the hormone injections.”

But it was worth it. “They can’t believe in just a few months they’re going to have two babies,” says the insider. “They’re having so much fun looking at all the latest baby gadgets and getting everything ready for the twins. They’re going to be such amazing parents.” ◼

“George is going to be an incredible father. He’s been a bachelor for so long that most people don’t realize how great he is with kids,” an insider says of the couple (in London on Jan. 9).
