CUSTODY WAR: PAULA WANTS ROBIN DRUG-TESTED
Robin Thicke’s custody battle with ex-wife Paula Patton just got uglier — she now wants him drug-tested. On Jan. 13, the “Blurred Lines” singer summoned police to Paula’s LA home because she allegedly violated their custody order by refusing to release their son, Julian, to him. But when deputies went inside the house and spoke to Julian, the 6-year-old reportedly said he was scared to leave with his dad, and Robin left without his son. Court documents obtained by In Touch reveal that on Jan. 2, Julian told his mother that Robin had spanked him “really hard.” On Jan. 4, officials from Julian’s school filed a formal complaint with the LA County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) after Julian made similar comments to a school employee. (Robin, 39, admits to using light spanking as a form of discipline, but says he does so in accordance with the law, adding, “This is the type of discipline to which Paula and I agreed during our marriage.”) There’s another reason Robin could soon be spending less time with his son: According to the court papers, Paula, 41, is “concerned” that he is using drugs while Julian is in his custody. “Paula is going to ask the judge to order Robin to undergo random drug testing,” says a source. “The DCFS investigation could go on for months. It’s going to get very nasty.”
