IMMERSION THERAPY!

- BY MATT SULLIVAN

On this intensely intriguing drama, Naomi Watts plays Jean, a therapist with major boundary issues. She gets overly involved with the people in her patients’ lives: chatting up a patient’s estranged daughter at the hair salon, making a house call on a drug-addicted patient with an abusive boyfriend. And then there’s the matter of Sam (Karl Glusman), a patient who is still hung up on his ex-girlfriend, a bisexual barista named Sidney (Sophie Cookson). Unbeknownst to Sam, Jean (assuming the identity of a journalist named Diane) strikes up a fierce flirtation with Sidney that escalates into obsession. Did we mention that Jean is a married soccer mom with a handsome husband, Michael ( Billy Crudup), and a tomboy daughter? Over the slow-boiling, suspenseful course of 10 episodes, we’ll learn more about Jean’s unorthodox interventionist techniques — and the haunting past that threatens to jeopardize her future. Watts is riveting as a complex character drawn to danger — and she’ll draw you in, too! FRI. 6/ 30, 3 A. M., NETFLIX ★★★★✩
