J. Lo & A-rod’s Jennifer Lopez is planning her fourth trip down the aisle after Alex Rodriguez secretly proposes in Paris
Jennifer Lopez sweetly called it their “baecation.” In mid-june she and new love Alex Rodriguez enjoyed a luxurious and relaxing getaway in France. But while she shared several stunning photos from Europe, she didn’t reveal the most exciting part of their trip. “Alex got down on one knee and asked Jennifer to marry him during their romantic trip to Paris,” an insider tells In Touch exclusively. “She burst into tears and said ‘ Yes!’”
Now they have a dream wedding to plan. “They want it to be a fairy tale,” says the insider. And they’re sparing no expense: Thanks to an extravagant location, elegant menu, hotel and private jet costs, security detail for themselves and their A-list guests and, of course, a showstopping dress for Jennifer, 47, the price tag will hit $3 million, says the insider: “Jennifer doesn’t care that this is her fourth marriage. She never likes to pull back on anything and is determined to make her wedding an unforgettable day, no
matter how much it costs.”
With her estimated net worth at $360 million and his at $300 million, they can afford it. She wants to wed in the same country where the former Yankees star, 41, proposed. “Jennifer is obsessed with France and has told pals that she’s looking into the Palace of Versailles [ below] for her big day. She’s always dreamed of having a wedding fit for a queen, and Versailles is probably the closest she’s going to get,” says the insider. They’ll exchange vows in front of at least 300 guests — a combination of family and A-list pals
including her best friend, Leah Remini (above), Ryan Seacrest, Rachel Zoe, Kerry Washington, Kirsten Dunst, Kim and Khloé Kardashian and Kanye West, “who will all be flown into Paris on private jets for a weekend of celebrations. Jennifer and Alex will spend a fortune on security.”
What J. Lo wants, J. Lo gets. “Jennifer will have appetizers and Cristal champagne served in her favorite room, the Hall of Mirrors,” says the insider. “Food and alcohol alone will cost $500,000. After dinner, guests will be treated to a $150,000 fireworks display in the stunning gardens.” It will be a celebration steeped in luxury. “Jennifer will pay for her guests to stay in Paris, just 12 miles away from the Palace of Versailles, and will put them up at Le Meurice hotel and Hôtel Plaza Athénée. Rooms at the hotels start at around $1,000 a night!”
And then there’s her dress and the wedding party. “To keep with the French theme, Jennifer plans to wear a long, white-lace, custom-made Christian Dior gown,” says the insider, adding that Jennifer wants her kids (twins Max and Emme, 9, with third husband Marc Anthony) and A-rod’s girls from his marriage to Cynthia Scurtis ( Natasha, 12, and Ella, 9) to be intimately involved. “Max will be the ring bearer and Emme will be a bridesmaid, along with Alex’s daughters.”
Jennifer can’t wait to make things official. “She wants to be one big, happy family,” says the insider. “This wedding is like a dream come true for her.” ◼
