Bombshell Bare Legs: Found!

As the temperatures rise, so do stars’ hemlines, but not all are sporting the sexiest of stems

From miniskirts to hip-high slits, the heat has Hollywood’s hottest putting their legs on full display. “Celebs love to show off their legs year-round, but they know how to take it up a notch come summer,” says tanning expert Jamie Greenberg, who has bronzed stars like Rashida Jones and Kaley Cuoco. The A-list secret to wow: a fresh faux tan. “The ultra-bronzed look hides flaws like veins and scars and gives legs a sleeker, slimmer, sexier appearance!” Want to get your gam glow on? Greenberg advises opting for tanning mousse, which has an airy formula for quick-drying color (we like NKD SKN Tinted Tan Mousse, $20, ulta.com). Apply to legs using a tanning mitt ( like the Versa Spa Applicator Mitt, $12, versaspa.com). “This helps distribute the color evenly for a streak-free application.” To make legs look seriously long and lean, let the tanner dry, then follow up with a contouring. Simply mist a stripe of a tanning spray ( like Neutrogena Micromist Airbrush Sunless Tan, $12, ulta.com) down the inside and outside of each thigh. This creates a light column down the center of legs that optically elongates. And for the finishing touch, moisturize. “Applying a heavy body butter keeps skin hydrated and ensures the tanning formula settles smoothly,” says Greenberg. Read on to discover more tips to getting a leg up on gorgeous summertime gams!

BRONZED? BEAUTIFUL

In the season of itty-bitty bathing suits and up- to- there slits like on Jennifer Lopez’s sexy number, it’s key to make sure a faux tan is smooth and even all the way up the leg. Greenberg’s tip? First, remove hair from the bikini area with a specialty trimmer designed to help ward off razor burn and bumps (we like the Clio Palmperfect Wet & Dry Women’s Electric Bikini Trimmer, $17, target.com). Then apply self- tanner from the toes to the bikini line.

DRY KNEES? LOOKS ROUGH!

Bumpy spots left

Heidi Klum’s faux tan looking splotchy, says Greenberg. Her tip? The day before applying self-tanner, exfoliate skin with a scrub made of equal parts sugar and olive oil. “This sloughs off dead skin and gives self-tanner a smooth, clean base to adhere to.”

PASTY, HAIRY CALVES? EEK!

Pale skin and fuzz made

Bella Thorne’s legs look far from fab. Using a four-blade razor (like Schick Quattro YOU, $6 for 4, walmart.com) can help ensure a long-lasting shave. And for a fast hit of color, try tan wipes (like Sun Bum Sunless Self Tanning Towelettes, $16, ulta.com).
