BRAD’S GETTING MARRIED!

• Furious Angelina doesn’t want another woman around her kids • Sober and drug-free, Brad is finally ready to find happiness

It’s become his safe place. Ever since his brutal breakup from Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt has sought refuge at a nondescript art sculpting studio in LA. “I’m making everything,” he shared in the summer issue of GQ Style. “I’m working with clay, plaster, rebar, wood. Just trying to learn the materials. You know, I surprise myself. But,” he added, “it’s a very, very lonely occupation.”

Turns out it’s not so lonely after all. While working on his art, Brad has fallen in love, and he’s decided to get married again! “She’s a beautiful artist who’s far removed from show business,” an insider close to Brad tells In Touch exclusively. “Brad’s really fallen for her.” He’s so serious about marrying her that he even told Angie that he’s eventually going to get married again. Her reaction stunned him. Even though she’s the one who ended their marriage — and then tried to destroy him — she was upset, says the insider.

Brad thought she’d be relieved to know he’s moving on. He was

wrong. Angelina, 42, is not happy and will be even more unhappy if Brad, 53, gets married soon, says a source. And if Brad decides to have children with his new bride, that will be tough for Angie to deal with. Their children [Maddox, 16, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 11, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 9] would become part of a blended family, says the source.

Angelina has been fighting a public relations battle in recent weeks. In a Vanity Fair cover story, the process Angelina used to cast children in the movie First They Killed My Father was described and many people found it shocking. Children from orphanages, circuses and slum schools in Cambodia were put in a “game” by the casting directors. Money was put on a table in front of them, and the child was asked to think of something they needed it for and told to then snatch the money. A director then pretended to catch the child, who was told to lie and say they didn’t have the money, the magazine reported. Angelina was furious and disputed the magazine’s account, releasing a statement that said “a pretend exercise in an improvisation… had been written about as if it was a real scenario.” She added: “The suggestion that real money was taken from a child during an audition is false and upsetting. I would be outraged myself if this had happened.” Her lawyer contacted the magazine and wanted changes to the online story. But Vanity Fair then published a taped transcript of the interview and refused to make any changes, saying they stood by their story.

Brad’s artist is far more mellow than Angelina. “She’s 30-ish, doesn’t know or associate with anyone in Hollywood and only knows one or two of his films,” says the insider. “Brad loves that about her. He couldn’t be happier.” While a source insists Brad has not met anyone special and is not ready to marry again, the insider adds that for the time being, “Brad’s purposely kept

the relationship as low-key as possible. Only one or two friends know about it. But his dream is to wed this woman and raise the kids with her by his side.”

The thought of another woman in her children’s lives is infuriating to Angelina. After leaving Brad, she made a huge effort to become more domestic. She’s even started taking cooking classes “at the request of my kids,” she told Vanity Fair. “I’ve been trying for nine months to be really good at just being a homemaker and picking up dog poop and cleaning dishes and reading bedtime stories. And I’m getting better at all three,” she said, adding that as she goes to sleep at night, “I think, ‘Did I do a great job as a mom or was that an average day?’” While she’s been struggling with mom guilt, says the insider, “Brad has never been in a better place in his life.”

His life is completely different now. “Brad is thriving as a single dad. He’s done a complete 180 since the dark days of last September when the family was torn apart by his admitted alcohol problem and that fateful airplane incident” involving an altercation between him and the older boys, says the insider (see sidebar). “He’s in such a good place. He’s totally rejuvenated. He got sober and turned his life around with therapy, treatment and getting in shape with a trainer and nutritionist.” And after a lengthy child protective services investigation that ultimately cleared him of any wrongdoing, “He’s also gotten his act together with the kids, demonstrating what a caring and responsible father he can be. He’s slowly won back the trust and love of his children, along with more and more visitation time.”

The only thing that would make Brad happier is if the divorce drama with Angelina went away and their custody battle was finally settled once and for all. “He’d really love it even more if he could get the kids to stop traveling with Angelina to far-flung and dangerous places around the world on her human rights endeavors and settle and go to school in LA,” says the insider.

For the first time in a long time, Brad is looking forward to the future. “He’s fully intent on getting on with his new life and new love,” says the insider. “He’s hopeful he and Angie can find a way to move past their issues and come to an agreement on the divorce and custody.” Unfortunately, adds the insider, that does not seem likely in the near future. ◼
