THEY BOTH MOVED ON SO QUICKLY

Blake and his Voice co-star Gwen started falling for each other just weeks after their respective marriages fell apart — his to Miranda, hers to Gavin Rossdale, 51. They bonded over their breakups, and “next thing I know,” Blake has said, “I wake up and s

fans that “she was obviously upset that night.” Bingo, says an insider: “It’s obvious Miranda’s still affected by what happened with Blake. And the only way she will fully get over it is if she confronts him face-to-face.”

That’s exactly what she’s going to do. Two years after their bombshell divorce — which took an Oklahoma judge just two weeks to finalize — Miranda wants a sit-down with her ex. “It’s been a long time coming, but enough time has passed,” the insider tells In Touch exclusively. “It’s been over two years since they’ve actually sat down and talked. It might be uncomfortable,” but it would be a very cathartic experience. “It needs to be done. They need to talk. It’s

time.” Even though Miranda, 33, eventually moved on from the man she was with for nearly a decade and is happy in a new relationship, adds the insider, “She still feels that she was blindsided by the divorce, and she needs closure. There’s still a lot of unfinished business between her and Blake.”

Miranda tried to get over their brutal July 2015 split without confronting Blake. “All the tears, all the journaling, all the counseling, all the songs Miranda’s written to help her get over the end of her marriage, it’s been helpful, but it’s not enough. She needs more,” explains the insider. “She says she needs to look straight into Blake’s eyes, ask certain questions and get answers. She’s been

waiting a long time for this.”

The secret meeting could be explosive. “So much has happened between them that this could get very heated,” adds the insider. “Miranda might think she’s going in with a clear head, but as soon as the emotions come up, she may lose it.” After all, the insider claims, “Blake blindsided her then drove her out of [ his hometown of] Tishomingo.” Days after the pair shocked fans with the announcement that their four-year marriage was over, Blake, 41, wanted her to remove her menagerie of rescue animals. She immediately moved to Tennessee and within a matter of months had shuttered her two Tishomingo businesses, the Pink Pistol boutique and the Ladysmith Bed and

Breakfast. ( Blake bought the building that housed her store and in January announced he’s turning it into Ole Red, a bar, restaurant and retail spot named after one of his early hits.)

Miranda has plenty to say about those dark days. Back then, she and Blake were plagued by drama, everything from cheating accusations against Miranda to reports she hated his Hollywood lifestyle as a coach on The Voice to stories that they’d been spending too much time apart. Her music has revealed some of the pain and devastation she faced. Her critically acclaimed November 2016 double album, The Weight of These Wings, is chock-full of songs about Blake, their breakup, her boozing and, ultimately, healing. “If you want to hear my side of the story or my opinion of what happened, it’s all on there,” she said in July. “There’s no mystery anymore.” (In “Tin Man,” for example, she sings about a man who’s unfeeling, telling him, “If you ever felt one breaking, you’d never want a heart” and offering to trade him her own heart for his body of armor.)

But there’s still so much she wants to know — and confess. “She’s still angry at him for everything he did to her. And I’m sure Blake’s angry at her for things she did during their marriage,” says the insider. “She believes that she and Blake are both responsible for the collapse of their marriage. But she also feels that they’ve both grown so much since their divorce that meeting up is essential for them to have healthy relationships in the future” — her with Anderson East, 29, him with Gwen Stefani, 47 (see sidebar).

She’s in love with Anderson and hopes Blake is happy, too. “She wants to marry Anderson,” says the insider. “And she’s finally at peace with Blake finding happiness with Gwen. She’s honest about it — she says it took her a while, because it really hurt her that he seemed to have moved on so quickly with Gwen. But now she sees it was all meant to be. Miranda has grown a lot; she has nothing bad to say about Gwen and truly hopes she and Blake stay together.”

Tying up loose ends will be a turning point for both of them. “Miranda is so looking forward to this. She really feels the time has finally come to lay everything out on the table,” says the insider. “Who knows, maybe this meeting with Blake will have them walk away as friends. Either way, they’ll definitely be in a better place.” ◼
