WOMAN MEMORIZES ENTIRE IKEA CATALOG

Meet Ikea’s new human catalog! The furniture giant hired two-time world memory champion Yanjaa Wintersoul, 23, to memorize their 328-page, 4,818-item 2018 sales book. In an online video, Ikea employees quiz her with questions like who in the catalog “needs to go to the eye doctor” (a woman struggling to read her book in a Muren recliner on page 176) and “What’s stuck on the fridge on page 21?” (a cat drawing and a sonogram). Yanjaa, who imagined stepping into each photo to remember the details, says the task took her a week — or roughly the time it takes to assemble a Billy bookcase.
