ANGIE’S STORY

Angie Everhart talks about calling out Harvey Weinstein.

-

Matt Lauer. Kevin Spacey. Louis C.K. Charlie Rose. Al Franken. Garrison Keillor. The list of powerful men accused of horrific sexual misconduct ranging from harassment to rape gets longer by the day. But none has shocked the public conscience more than mogul Harvey Weinstein, who emboldened women (and men) everywhere to share their #Metoo stories. Among the boldfaced names to join the movement: Angie Everhart, who says Weinstein trapped her in her room on a yacht over a decade ago and forced her to watch him masturbate. The supermodel and actress, who lives in LA with her second husband, entrepreneur Carl Ferro, 45, his daughter Joann, 11, and Angie’s son Kayden, 8, and recently joined forces with Oralgen for their Nupearl teeth whitening system, talked to In Touch’s Lexi Ciccone about why she spoke out (Carl’s “the one who told me to say something”), her amazing career and the secret to looking great at 48.

How scary was it to go public? AE: A little. If you’re in danger, don’t. If it’s going to get you hurt, be careful. But it’s time for these issues to not be brushed under the table...[and] it happens to men, too.

Your husband encouraged you to speak out? AE: Carl is a big, loud Italian. When he’s in the room, people know it.

Any regrets? AE: I don’t live with regret. I made mistakes, but they’re my mistakes. I chose career over a lot of things.

And your beauty secrets? AE: I live a healthy lifestyle. And Oralgen Nupearl — it’s a great product!

Tell us about your fitness routine. AE: I work with a trainer at least four days a week. This girl with the most flawless body, I asked, “What’s your secret?” She said, “No days off !” And I went, “OH...OK.” [ Laughs]

How do you sum up your life so far? AE: I was the first redhead [supermodel] ever. The best job. You travel the world. Great life, then I had a kid.

How did Kayden change your life? AE: Everything was all about me. Now, instead of me, me, me, me, my focus is on my family.

You had him at age 39. Are there more kids in your future? AE: If [only] I hadn’t waited so long... I didn’t know how cool kids were! ◼
