Lindsay Wants a Baby with Ben!
Lindsay Shookus tries to cement her relationship with Ben Affleck by starting a family
Ben Affleck and girlfriend Lindsay Shookus still aren’t officially divorced from their exes, but that hasn’t stopped the couple from fast-tracking their romance. They’ve been spotted house-hunting in LA, and they have a secret love nest in NYC, where Lindsay works: a $21 million, three-bedroom apartment on tony Central Park West that they’ve been renting for an estimated $45,000 a month. “They’re obviously in this for the long haul,” says an insider close to the couple. “Lindsay is madly in love with him.”
So much so, she wants to have his baby. The Saturday Night Live producer, 37, who already has a 4-year-old daughter with her estranged husband, “is starting to feel her biological clock ticking and doesn’t want to wait around,” says the insider. “She sees what a fantastic dad Ben is to Violet, Seraphina and Samuel [ his children with estranged wife Jennifer Garner] and has been fantasizing about start- ing a family with him.” But there’s another reason Lindsay is hoping to get pregnant. “She doesn’t want to lose Ben,” says the insider. “He’s tied to Jen for the rest of his life because of the children, and Lindsay can’t help but crave the same security for herself. Given Ben’s previous history with women and his turbulent marriage to Jen, he’s hardly known as husband of the year. The way Lindsay sees it, Ben would have left Jen years ago if it wasn’t for the kids.”
NOT A DONE DEAL
There’s one problem with Lindsay’s plan: Ben, 45, isn’t quite ready for another baby. “He’s already juggling his time between his busy Hollywood career, his relationship with Lindsay and his responsibilities as a dad to his three kids,” says the insider. “If Lindsay had a child, his time would be spread more thinly and it would disrupt the routine he’s become accustomed to. Ben loves Lindsay, but he’s enjoying his freedom and doesn’t feel ready to have another child right now. That said, Lindsay is a determined woman, and what she wants she usually gets!”
Jen, who jointly filed for divorce with Ben in April 2017 amid widespread reports he cheated, won’t be the first to congratulate them. (The Justice League star was linked to the family’s nanny, and multiple sources have said Ben and Lindsay started a relationship in 2013, two years before he and Jen, 45, announced their separation.) “Jen would be livid if Lindsay got knocked up,” says the insider, adding that the highly principled actress suspects the pair were involved while Ben was still married to her. “In Jen’s eyes, if Lindsay is conniving enough to go after a married man, then she’s conniving enough to get pregnant and go after his millions.”
But Lindsay won’t give up easily. “She’s on a mission,” says an insider. “I wouldn’t be surprised if she and Ben make a big announcement before summer.” ◼
