Inside John Wick 3 co-stars Halle Berry and Keanu Reeves’ undercover romance
Halle Berry had somewhere to be. Late on the evening of May 23, she slipped on a pair of leather leggings and a silky waterfall top, threw her hair up in a sexy tousled bun and made her way to the NYC set of her latest movie, the action thriller John Wick 3 — even though she wasn’t shooting that day. Once she arrived, she made a beeline for its star, Keanu Reeves, greeting him with a kiss on the cheek.
But Keanu is more than a co-star. The beautiful Oscar winner, 51, and the quietly eccentric actor, 53, are romantically involved. “Halle’s telling friends she’s finally found a suitable guy to date, and it just happens to be her new co-star Keanu,” a movie insider tells In Touch exclusively. “They started seeing each other before they even began film- ing. As soon as they started getting to know each other, they realized there was something there that’s stronger than a friendship.”
That would be chemistry. “Keanu is totally Halle’s type. He’s serious like her past guys, but she likes that he’s also very mysterious, introspective and down-to-earth,” says the insider. Halle, a mother of two who’s been divorced three times (see sidebar), loves that the star of Speed and The Matrix franchise doesn’t seek attention. “He’s not about the whole Hollywood spotlight thing. She finds that very attractive,” adds the insider. “And, of course, she thinks he’s super handsome.”
FINDING HAPPINESS AGAIN Though Keanu has never been married, like Halle he’s been unlucky in love. He’s been linked to a slew of beautiful stars, including Charlize Theron, Diane Keaton and Sandra Bullock, over the last few decades. But his longest and most serious relationship was with actress and celebrity personal assistant Jennifer Syme — and it ended in tragedy: Jennifer was eight months pregnant when she delivered their stillborn daughter, Ava. Crushed by grief, the couple soon split, and Jennifer was killed in a horrific car accident a year later.
Keanu’s worked hard to keep his life private ever since. But even though Keanu and Halle are trying to keep their romance on the DL, “there’s no hiding their attraction,” says the insider. “They not only make a gorgeous couple, but Keanu is just want Halle needs — and vice versa.” ◼
