But first, they’re celebrating their renewed commitment with a “dream honeymoon,” an insider tells In Touch, revealing that Brad, 54, and Jen, 49, are jetting off on a two-week trip to Italy, starting with a stay at pal George Clooney’s villa in Lake Como. During their intimate getaway, the World War Z star and the Friends icon — who split in 2005 after five years of marriage when Brad fell for his Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star Angelina — plan to push the reset button on their newly rekindled relationship. They also plan to try for a baby! “The highest priority on their list is starting a family right away,” confirms a source, who adds that romantic Italy is “the perfect place to start this new phase of life.”
SO ROMANTIC
Italy was Jen’s idea. While filming her upcoming Netflix comedy Murder Mystery this summer, she fell in love with the country’s glamorous yet charming seaside where she shot scenes. “Jen gushed to Brad about the locations on the Italian Riviera,” says the source. “She would excitedly text and Facetime Brad while she was making the movie and he was in LA, telling him about each beautiful place she encountered. She never felt so relaxed while making a film, and she can’t wait to revisit those places with Brad.” They’ll begin the trip on familiar ground with a stay at Villa Oleandra, George’s breathtaking 25-room estate — which has a swimming pool, outdoor theater, tennis court and landscaped gardens. “Jen and Brad felt it was only fitting that they kick off their honeymoon there,” says the insider, who reveals that Brad took several under-the-radar trips to Lake Como over the years without Angelina because she disliked George, 57, and his wife, Amal Clooney (see box, left). pier times, back in 2004 — and following her split from Justin earlier this year, they had a secret rendezvous there. (Ever-welcoming George, who hosted John Krasinski and Emily Blunt at Lake Como for their 2010 wedding, was immediately on board.) “Brad has always sung the place’s praises,” notes the insider. “He says it’s as if your best friends owned the world’s best boutique hotel and left you on your own to enjoy it.”
George even volunteered to help plan the rest of the pair’s Italian sojourn. “He stepped in as travel agent,” jokes the insider. As much as Brad and Jen love Lake Como — the friend says they’re even planning to go house-hunting for their own villa near George and Amal’s place! — they also want to see other parts of the country. “Brad and Jen will be visiting Portofino and other spots on the Italian Riviera, along with the beach in Sardinia,” continues the insider, adding that a yacht trip down the coast, along with plenty of candlelit dinners and world-class hotel stays, are on the itinerary. Not only are they hoping to make up for their disappointing previous honeymoons (see box, below) — they want to make sure they’ll never take each other for granted again, explains the insider: “Jen and Brad vowed that this would be as intimate a honeymoon as possible.”
FAMILY MATTERS
Still, Brad’s six kids won’t be far from their minds. “They’ll also make time to buy special gifts for all of them,” says the source, who notes that the children will be staying with mom Angelina at her $25 million LA home. Jen in particular wants to show her gratitude for how sweet they’ve been to her. “The kids already love Jen,” says the friend. “They’ve spent time with her on a number of occasions now, and they find her to be warm, funny and a really genuine person.”
She’ll also make a great mom. Now that they’re committed to each other again, Brad and Jen have already decided to try to start their own family, says the friend: “Having a baby will be another in a series of dreams come true for Jen.”
They’re determined to get it right this time. “Now that Brad and Jen have reconnected and supported each other through two of the nastiest divorces in Hollywood history, he’s not about to let her get away again. Jen feels the same,” says the friend. “They’re reveling in their time together. It’s like they were never apart.” ◼
