Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin got their marriage license — and parenthood is next
They tried to fly under the radar. Justin Bieber wore a striped shirt while Hailey Baldwin donned a casual white dress and sneakers as they climbed the steps leading to a side door at an NYC courthouse on Sept. 13. “They went to get a marriage license. They cut an entire line of people who were waiting and met with a clerk privately in a back room and asked a lot of questions,” a source tells In Touch of the couple’s visit. Though reports soon erupted claiming they’d quietly wed inside the government building, Hailey shot it down the next day. “I understand where the speculation is com- ing from,” she tweeted, “but I’m not married yet!”
She will be any day now. Justin and Hailey are ready not only for a wedding but, sources tell In Touch, a baby. Some even think Hailey, who accepted Justin’s marriage proposal in July just a few weeks after they rekindled their on/off romance, could be pregnant already! “Justin is amazing with kids and can’t wait to be a dad,” says an insider, noting that the lovebirds’ Aug. 30 visit to a Beverly Hills medical office together has only fueled friends’ suspicions — as has the fact that the “Baby” singer, 24, and the model, 21, are skipping a long engagement. Says the insider, “They aren’t waiting around to tie the knot.”
FULL SPEED AHEAD
At the courthouse, “They told the clerk that they might have a small ceremony in New York,” explains the source, adding that the pair also asked about exchanging vows abroad. “They were told that as long as whoever marries them sends the [ license] back to the court in 60 days, they’re good to go.”
Their families are on board. Justin’s been ingratiating himself with Hailey’s father, actor Stephen Baldwin, and in August he purchased a $5 million home in his native Canada that would be the perfect place to raise a family — or celebrate Hailey’s dream wedding (see box). “I just picture lights strung everywhere,” the model recently said. “I think having it in the woods would be so beautiful.” A Canadian source says they’re considering a “winter wonderland wedding” that could cost up to $1 million.
After his years-long roller-coaster romance with Selena Gomez, Justin can’t believe how easy things are with Hailey. “She’s a calming influence,” says the insider. “Justin believes she’s the right woman to be his wife and mother of his children. He’s the happiest he’s ever been.” ◼
Justin (with Hailey at a doctor’s office in Beverly Hills on Aug. 30, above) has made no secret of his desire to have kids. “I promise to lead our family with honor and integrity,” he said in a July Instagram post confirming their engagement.
