Brad Pitt falls for a gorgeous German model who happens to be married and have a kid
He may have been wearing a mask and sunglasses, but there was no mistaking who was behind them. Clad in casual pants, a loose green shirt and his trademark newsboy cap, Brad Pitt exited a chauffeured car and made his way across the tarmac at Paris’ Le Bourget airport to a private plane on Aug. 26. But he wasn’t alone. A tall, lithe woman in ankle boots, linen trousers, a leather jacket and a boater hat was traveling with him. Within hours, as they flew south to Le Castellet airport — which is just a 30-mile drive from the grounds of Château Miraval, the winery Brad once shared with Angelina Jolie — the woman’s identity was no longer a mystery.
She’s 27-year-old German model Nicole Poturalski, and In Touch can confirm that Brad has quietly been seeing her for about a year. Nearly four years after Angelina Jolie, 45, left him, filed for divorce and launched a bitter custody battle over their six children, Brad, 56, is sober, happy and enjoying a hot new romance with another drop-dead gorgeous woman. “I’ve been told that Brad and Nicole started getting serious when she visited LA for six weeks in November 2019,” an insider tells In Touch. “He invited her to come see him after they met in Germany a couple of months prior. They were attracted to each other from the start.” But their relationship isn’t without its complications: “Nicole is married! And she has a young son.”
Nicole, who grew up in public housing in a former coal mining town in western Germany and moved to Berlin as a teen to pursue a modeling career, is married to 68-yearold restaurateur Roland Mary, with whom she shares a 7-year-old son, Emil. She and Brad met in August 2019 when he visited Roland’s upscale Berlin eatery, Borchardt, with his Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood co-stars and director Quentin Tarantino while they were all in Europe promoting the film.
SECRET LOVERS
There was an instant connection. “Nicole fell for Brad the moment she met him,” says the insider, “and the feeling was mutual.” As for her husband? According to the insider, Roland and Nicole (who uses the name Nico Mary professionally — she’s currently on the cover of German Elle’s September issue) don’t have a traditional marriage: “They have an agreement where they both can see other people.”
Brad was desperate to keep their relationship a secret. “He didn’t want to create a media circus, and he didn’t want Angelina finding out about it at the beginning — not until he and Nicole were sure it was more than lust, more than the honeymoon stage,” explains the source. “So he and Nicole spent a majority of their time together enjoying romantic nights in at his place [in LA’s Los Feliz neighborhood] getting to know each other.” They rarely stepped out, though photos now show Nicole joined Brad in his VIP box at a performance of Kanye West’s Nebuchadnezzar opera at the Hollywood Bowl last Nov. 24.
They otherwise were very, very careful. “They managed to keep their relationship quiet by never arriving anywhere together,” says the insider. “When they met at hotels, they’d go through different entrances at different times and book two rooms using pseudonyms, so it didn’t look like they were together.” Brad also has a portfolio of private properties, “which has definitely come in handy,” adds the insider.
