THE DALLAS DOCTOR ADDS BRAVO STAR TO HER DISTINGUISHED RÉSUMÉ

-

The Real Housewives of Dallas’ Tiffany Moon opens up to In Touch about medicine and reality TV machinations

Dr. Tiffany Moon isn’t your typical housewife. As an anesthesiologist, the Real Housewives of Dallas star, 36, spends most of her time in an operating room. The show “is so different from my normal day job,” says Tiffany, who graduated from med school at 23. “I wear scrubs, no makeup and throw my hair in a bun. And I barely talk because my patients are asleep!” The contrast made for an interesting debut on the Bravo hit. “I was out of my comfort zone, but I like to push myself. That’s how you grow.” Here, the mom of 6-year-old twins Madison and Chloe tells In Touch’s Natalie Posner about clashing with co-star Kary Brittingham and branching out.

“My first priority has always been school plus my career,” says Tiffany, admitting that her new goal is to “be a better mom” to her twin daughters.

What was it like having your life documented on camera?

TM: I didn’t know what to expect, so it was all very new. I was just trying to get to know the girls and have them get to know me.

How did your husband, Daniel, react to you joining RHOD?

TM: At first, he was like, “Do you really want to?” But at the end of the day, he said, “I trust you. You’ve made wise career and life decisions, so if this is something you really want, I will support you.” What do your hospital colleagues think?

TM: Some think it might reflect poor-ly on my profession. Then there’s a group of women rallying behind me, saying, “You go, girl. You’re no less of a doctor because you like handbags and shoes.”

Which co-star are you closest to?

TM: D’Andra [Simmons]. She’s the one who introduced me, and she’s like a big sister to me.

Who do you get along with least? TM:

Kary and I got off on the wrong foot. We’re very different people. I’m very regimented, and I like my schedules and itineraries. Kary will rip up my itinerary and give me a tequila shot! I respect her, but I don’t think we’re ever going to be best friends.

What was the highlight of filming? TM:

I will say Kary threw me a birthday party mid-season. It was in some ways a olive branch, and she put together a beautiful party for the seven of us with a special guest appearance. It was just so much fun because I finally let my walls down.

Are you worried about watching yourself on the show?

KB: I’m sure there will be things that I will wish that I had not said. I’m going to try not to give myself too hard of a time. I wanted to have fun and tell my story. As long as I achieve those goals, I’ll be happy. ◼
