WHAT TO SEE » Annenberg, who was a publisher and diplomat, built his desert home in 1966. It is now a retreat for world leaders, but tours give the public the chance to glimpse into his lifestyle and a place visited by presidents such as Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama. The property is displaying an installation called “Women’s Qualities” by Ghada Amer. It’s part of Desert X, an outdoor art festival spread across the Coachella Valley.
