Chamber ensemble concert is on Saturday

A regional chamber music ensemble that will tour Italy this summer will present a benefit concert 3 p.m. Saturday on the grounds of Kimberly Crest House and Gardens, 1325 Prospect Drive, Redlands.

The ensemble, part of Big Bear Lake-based MountainTo­p Strings of California, will perform classical music, pop and jazz at the event, according to a news release.

Admission is free and compliment­ary wine, prosecco and Italian bites will be provided. Donations are welcome and they will go toward financing the group’s ChamberFes­t Italy concert tour.

Sharon Rizzo, director of MountainTo­p Strings, will lead the ensemble and the concert will feature three University of Redlands School of Music graduates: Ian Kaminski, Anthony Schnell and Sophia Huang. Also performing is vocalist Tori Waner, singing pop and jazz selections.

Members of MountainTo­p Strings’ ChamberFes­t Italy 2022 ensemble will perform this summer in Rome, Florence and Venice.

The final performanc­e on the tour will be an all-Vivaldi concert in Antonio Vivaldi’s church in Venice, according to the news release.

The MountainTo­p Strings of California, created in 2011, is a

small ensemble of string musicians that was created for the purpose of educating youth to concertize locally and tour abroad.
