Overturning Roe was right
I agree that the Constitution never gave a carte blanche “right” for women to abort a life. Therefore, the states have the right to decide the lawfulness and perimeters regarding abortion in their state.
I believe that a woman should be able to legally abort a life if there is a justifiable reason like rape, incest, severe religious belief against birth control, or a medical reason that it would be in the best interest of the mother or fetus.
Unfortunately, in my opinion, too many women of childbearing age make no effort to use the numerous birth control measures available and use abortion as birth control, some multiple times. As I commented above, the individual states should make the decisions as to how far they want to go on abortion.
If the people of the state disagree with what their politicians decide, then start voting them out of office.
Court makes correct decision on Roe
It is amusing and at the same time frustrating to hear CNN report that the Supreme Court “eliminated the constitutional right to an abortion” with its decision to reverse Roe v. Wade. Any right (or lack thereof) to an abortion is not specifically noted in the Constitution, and thus falls under a provision of the Tenth Amendment that indicates such absences of specificity result in individual states deciding those issues.
What the Supreme Court has done is restore the appropriate states’ rights on abortion.
Nothing else. It has not made abortion illegal, yet reckless and uncontrolled protesters are ignorantly claiming precisely that.
Roe overturned
Every single woman of childbearing age was born under the auspices of Roe with the knowledge, perhaps just in the back of their minds, that abortion was always available as a last resort to an unwanted pregnancy regardless of the cause of said condition.
Was last week’s ruling right or wrong?
Said ruling only affects women of the age when they can become pregnant. My opinion is that only their opinion matters.
