GEORGIA JEAN (BLISS) MILLER

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmothe­r and friend to all, Georgia Jean (Bliss) Miller passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on August 4, 2022. Georgia was born to Dr. Donald E. Bliss and Alberta E. (Getchell) Bliss at Riverside Community Hospital on December 31, 1936. She grew up in Riverside attending Magnolia Elementary, Central Junior High, Poly High, Riverside City College and San Diego State University.

Georgia met the love of her life Gerald A. Miller while at RCC, and they were married at the First United Methodist Church on July 27, 1957. They lived in Honolulu, San Diego and Chicago before returning to Riverside to raise their family.

During Jerry’s 50 yr. general dental practice, Georgia would help in the front office. She worked over 25 yrs. in the JUSD as a Teacher’s Aide. She volunteere­d with the PTA, Riverside Junior League, as a Candy Striper at RCH, and with The Rotary Club of Riverside. She enjoyed friends in water aerobics, her bridge group, bunco group and her “Adopted Sisters” of The Tuesday Night Group. Georgia enjoyed knitting, cooking, her pets over the years, reading, travel, family gatherings and a good game of cards.

Georgia is survived by her husband of 65 yrs, Dr. Gerald A. Miller, son Dr. Donald Miller (Dr Eve), daughters Dr. Kelli Miller (John) and Jennifer Lara (Jose); grandchild­ren Robert (Brenna), Ellen, Erin, Daniel and Pilar; brother Ken Bliss (Diane); sister-in-law Nina Bliss; nieces Melissa (Brett) and Suzi; nephew Ken (Sheri). She was predecease­d by her brother Ron Bliss, sister-in-law Lona Goodwin and nephew Jeff (Dorina).

Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Riverside, 4845 Brockton Ave. on August 20, 2022 at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Rotary Club of Riverside Scholarshi­p Fund at PO Box 1386, Riverside, CA 92502. Aloha Nui Loa.
