GRACIELA E. FLEMING

-

Graciela Erlinda Guerra was born in Fontana CA., on May 8, 1940 to Maria del Carmen Bejarano and Jose Negrete Guerra. On July 25, 1958, Graciela married George Fleming while he was serving in the United States Marine Corps. She passed away at home on January 14, 2023 in Murrieta CA. surrounded by her family.

She was raised in San Bernardino, attending Ramona Elementary, Franklin Junior High and graduating from San Bernardino High School in 1958. She thereafter enrolled at Skadron Secretarial College, graduating in 1959.

Graciela began working at Norton Air Force Base and later San Bernardino Unified School District, retiring in 2005 from Burbank Elementary School where she was the school secretary. She had many fond memories of working with the staff and children, some who would later return with their own children.

She was the last of a large loving family; including brothers Manuel Silva, Armando Silva, Jesus J. Guerra, Roberto F. Guerra and sisters, Magdalena Silva Garcia, Estella Guerra Serrano and Eleanor Guerra Cosmos.

Graciela is survived by her husband George Fleming, sons George David Fleming, Eric Fleming, and daughter Laura Fleming (Hoak), son-in-law Steve Hoak and her beloved grandsons, George Cagle Fleming, Jeremy Fleming, Kurt Hoak, Brett Hoak. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces and her beloved sisters-in-law Lupe Guerra, Angie Silva, Helen Patterson and many friends she loved.

She is remembered for her love of family, her endless vivacious smile, regardless of the changes life presented. She always had a hug for family and a soulful laugh that lightened the room. She was tolerant beyond expectation, and forgiving of those she loved. She was a devout Catholic and practiced her faith to the end. Her family will miss her immensely.

She taught us much of the human condition, the need for tolerance and patience in dealing with crises in life.

Vaya con Dios mi vida. Mi amor. Siempre, siempre Graciela. All services will be held at Montecito Mortuary and Chapel on February 22, 2023. Viewing from 8-10am. Services from 10-11am. Interment from 11am-12pm.
