Cal Poly Pomona’s Tomatozania, featuring hundreds of varieties of tomato plants for sale, will begin March 18 at the Cal Poly Pomona Farm Store, 4102 S. University Drive, Pomona.

Varieties range from the well-known San Marzano, Better Boy, green zebra and Cherokee purple to the Abu Rawan, blue cream, berries, Braveheart, St. Pierre, tiedye pink and many more. There will be plants for large gardens, those that flourish in containers and micro tomato plants.

Cal Poly Pomona’s annual Tomatozania sale began in 1997, and its reputation has spread throughout the San Gabriel Valley and beyond.

In 2019, about 1,600 people bought more than 6,000 plants at the beginning of the sale, with an additional 5,000 plants having been sold in the weeks that followed, according to the news release.
