DOROTHY TWISS

-

April 22, 1922 - February 27, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Dorothy Twiss. Born on April 22, 1922 in Bloomington, California, Dorothy lived a long and fulfilling life, reaching the age of 100 years before passing away peacefully in her sleep on February 27, 2023. Dorothy was married for 68 years to her high school sweetheart, John Twiss. They had three children, 4 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She was known for her sharp wit, intelligence, and sassiness, that never failed to bring a smile to those who knew her.

In her younger years, Dorothy loved nothing more than camping and traveling with her family and friends. She had a special talent for gathering friends and loved ones to share adventures and journeys both near and far. Playing cards was another one of her favorite pastimes. She was a skilled player and enjoyed a good game of pinochle or rummy with friends and family. She was always up for a challenge and loved the friendly competition.

In addition to her many other wonderful qualities, Dorothy was also incredibly health-conscious and dedicated to maintaining an active lifestyle. She was a firm believer in the importance of exercise and staying fit, and she made it a priority to incorporate physical activity into her daily routine. Even in her later years, Dorothy remained committed to her fitness routine, and spent countless hours in the gym sharing her passion for fitness with her friends. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Family was the most important thing to Dorothy, and she adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything else in the world. She would light up when they came to visit, always eager to play games, tell stories, and share her life’s adventures with them. She loved nothing more than to be surrounded by the laughter and energy of her family. We’ll miss Dorothy’s sassy comebacks, her infectious laugh, and her unwavering spirit. But we take comfort in knowing that she’s with the Lord now, singing and dancing and keeping everyone on their toes.

As we reflect on Dorothy’s life, we are reminded of the many happy memories we shared together. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew and loved her. We miss you, Gaga!
