Arrow Highway & Fremont Avenue Improvemen­t

The classifica­tion of Contractor's license required in the performanc­e of this Contract is a

Class A.

Pursuant to the prov i s i ons of Sect i on 1773 of the Labor Code of the State of California, the City has obtained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work in this locality for each craft, classifica­tion or type of workman needed to execute the Contract from the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations. Copies may be obtained from the California Department of Industrial Relations website at http:// www.dir.ca.gov.

The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Labor and Materials Bond and a Faithful Performanc­e Bond in the amount of 100% of the amount of the Contract.

Pursuant to Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code of the State of California, the Contract will contain provisions permitting the successful bidder to substitute securities for any monies withheld by the City of Montclair to ensure performanc­e under the Contract.

The work to be completed consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidental­s as required by the Plans, Specificat­ions, and Contract Documents for the above-stated project. The general items of work to be performed hereunder consist of the removal

and replacemen­t of curb, gutter, sidewalk, catch basin, and asphalt pavement and aggregate base; adjustment of manholes/pull boxes; constructi­on of storm drain improvemen­ts, and traffic stenciling and striping, signage, and traffic signal improvemen­ts and traffic interconne­ct improvemen­ts as required by the plans, Standard Specificat­ions, and the Special Provisions.

In summary, Ordinance No. 673.7 amends Ordinance No. 673 in its entirety with comprehens­ive updates including, but not limited to, the following: updating the formatting, organizati­on, and wording of provisions for consistenc­y; increasing the Transporta­tion Uniform Mitigation Fee (TUMF) by 7.4 percent, effective by January 1, 2024, based on the Coachella Valley Associatio­n of Government­s (CVAG) annual adjustment of the TUMF, adopted on April 24, 2023. Ordinance No. 673.7 would take effect 60 days after its adoption.
