William (Bill) O'rourke

February 13, 1946 - December 17, 2023 Riverside, CA

-

Beloved husband, father, Papa, Bill O’rourke peacefully passed away with his family surrounding him on December 17, 2023, at the age of 77.

He will be missed by his wife of almost 55 years, Laura; his children Billy (Christy), and Meghan West (Brian); grandchildren Jordyn, Thunder, Conor and Caraline; brother Richard and sister Louise; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many longtime friends. He is reunited with his brother John, and parents John and Edna.

Bill resided in Riverside most of his life. He graduated from Rubidoux High School in 1964. He proudly served in the military with the Marines from 1965-1968, and worked as a Pressman for the Riverside Press Enterprise from 1969-2009.

Bill loved his family and always made them the priority in his life. He enjoyed the simple things in life and made efforts to spend time and talk with those he loved. He worked hard to provide for his family and also spent many years coaching his children’s sports teams. He was kind, and happiest when spending time with his family and friends.

He enjoyed his monthly “Old Farts Breakfast” as he called it, with friends that he worked with at the Riverside Press Enterprise. If a friend or family member was visiting Bill, he would bring them along to the breakfast.

The family has asked that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to either of the following charities that Bill supported: Semper Fi and America’s Fund at www.thefund.org, or to Boys Town at www.boystown.org

As a military veteran, Bill’s ashes will be interred at the Riverside National Cemetery with a visitation headstone to commemorate his life. A Celebration of Life will be held on February 10th at the March Field Air Museum in Riverside at 11am, lunch will be served; friends and family are welcome.
