RESERVATIO­NS Fundraiser: The Uplanders Club Charitable Organizati­on has its Wings of Hope Gala 5-9 p.m. March 23at the Doubletree by Hilton in Claremont. Cocktail attire is suggested. The event is a fundraiser for Megan’s Wings, which provides assistance to Inland Empire and Pomona Valley families dealing with childhood cancer. Tickets are $100, and RSVP is required by March 10. Save the dates Historical Society: Steven Hackel will give a presentati­on on the lives of indigenous people in California during the time of Spanish colonizati­on when the La Verne Historical Society meets at 7p.m. March 11at the Hillcrest Meeting House, 2705 Mountain View Ave., La Verne. The Historical Society also plans a May 17trip to Mission San Gabriel. The March 11presenta­tion is free; there is a fee for the May 17 trip.

Saturday Craft market: The Crafters Market, held in conjunctio­n with the Pomona Valley Certified Farmers Market, runs 9a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays at 175W. Pearl St., Pomona.

Sunday Farmers markets: The city of Fontana, in conjunctio­n with the Family Market Company, offers a farmers market 10a.m.-3 p.m. Sundays in the aquatics center parking lot at Fontana Park, 15556Summi­t Ave.; and 2-7 p.m. Thursdays in the Don Day Neighborho­od Center parking lot at Southridge Park, 14501 Live Oak Ave.

Tuesday Concert: The Pomona College Jazz Ensemble, directed by Barb Catlin, presents a program of jazz by female composers and some student compositio­ns at 4:30 p.m. in Lyman Hall, Thatcher Music Building, 340 N. College Ave., Claremont. Free. Food distributi­on: Food for Life Ministry offers food 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at its main warehouse, 4712 Cheyenne Way, Chino. It also offers food there 9a.m.-noon on the Saturdays when it is not staging food distributi­ons elsewhere. Bring a form of identifica­tion (required) and $5 (not required).

Lifestream blood drive: The city of Chino Hills hosts a Lifestream blood drive noon-5 p.m. at the Government Center parking lot, 14077Peyto­n Drive. Donors receive a free mini-physical, including readings for blood pressure, pulse, cholestero­l levels, iron level and temperatur­e, with results being posted on the donor’s private online portal. Wednesday Writers group: The San Dimas Writers Group meets at 1 p.m. Wednesdays at San Dimas Senior Center, 201E. Bonita Ave., San Dimas. The group is open to published writers and anyone else interested in joining a community of writers. There is no cost to join.

March 8 Rummage sale: The Upland Woman’s Club has a Second Time Around sale 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at the clubhouse, 590N. Second Ave., Upland. The sale includes clothing, home decor, arts and crafts, household items, seasonal items and pet items and continues 8 a.m.noon March 9.
