Bailey reveals why she kept pregnancy private

-

Halle Bailey kept her recent pregnancy private for good reason.

“The Little Mermaid” star was one of the honorees at Thursday’s 2024 Black Women in Hollywood Bailey Awards, and gave

a speech in which she explained why she protected her pregnancy and the birth of her first child, son Halo, from public scrutiny.

“Halo was my gift. He is the greatest blessing, and I had no obligation to expose him, me, or my family to that,” according to People.

Bailey, who shares Halo with boyfriend DDG, took to Instagram in January with the news they had welcomed their son, writing alongside a picture of the newborn’s hand.

On Thursday, she concluded, “With the state of the world and the place it is in with men trying to force their will on our bodies, no one on social media, and for damn sure, no one on the planet, was going to tell me what to do with my body or what to share with the world.”

No more happy returns to Mendes, Cabello says

Camila Cabello loves Shawn Mendes, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be reuniting as a couple. The singer was a guest on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast this week, where she said her “impulsive” qualities had her contacting former boyfriends in the past, like when she got back together with Mendes in 2023 after they broke up in 2021.

“I’m kind of impulsive in that way, I would say,” she said. “If I feel it, I say it and I’m not really good at not doing that. Because the worst place for it to live is my mind.”

She continued, adding of her reunion with Mendes, “I opted for that route . ... It was a fun moment.” She also explained why they called it off after the second try, saying it just didn’t feel right.
