June 16, 1940 - February 24, 2024 Colton, CA

-

It is with sorrowful hearts that the Carrasco Family of Colton shares with you the passing of Beatrice Carrasco, better known as "Molly". She peacefully made her transition into eternal life on February 24, 2024. During her departure she was surrounded by her husband Pete Carrasco Sr. and her children Pete Jr. (Melissa), Patty Carrasco Mena (Ray), and Stephanie Betancur (Ron). She was preceded in death by her parents Antonio Diaz and Jennie Diaz and three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her sister Geraldine Cervantes, and two brothers: Frank Diaz (Hope), and Ernie Diaz (Sally).

Molly was 83 years old and was born on June 16, 1940. She was raised in Riverside, California until she married Colton resident Pete Carrasco on December 10, 1960. After their wedding, they established their residence in Colton where Molly lived for the rest of her life. Pete and Molly celebrated their Golden Anniversary in 2010 and were married for 63 years. A 1958 graduate of Riverside Poly High School, she was president of Girls' Recreation Association, a member of the choir, and Hi Tri. Though married with three children and working full time at GTE, she earned her Associate of Arts Degree at San Bernardino Valley College in 1983. Five years later, in 1988, her hard work ethic, determination, and "never give up" attitude allowed her to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies at California State University San Bernardino.

Even though she had a busy schedule, she never neglected her role as wife and mother. Family was her highest priority. Raising her children, and preparing meals for her family before attending classes was also important. She always made time to share her love with her husband, three children, nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. She also made time for instilling Christian and moral values. She wanted to make sure her kids would not become "church dropouts" after making their Confirmation. Prayer, belief in Jesus Christ, forgiveness, and treating everyone with dignity and respect were values to help them get along with everyone. She felt regardless of race or ethnic identification, we are all God's children. We are all like a fine woven tapestry or a beautiful rainbow where each color contributes to their beauty. He loves and watches over all of us.

Molly loved music and especially enjoyed listening to Juan Gabriel and Vicente Fernandez. She would sing along when her favorite song was playing. She also loved family gatherings, parties, dancing, and social events. Her friendly and outgoing personality was like a magnet that would draw people to her. Some would say, "Here comes Molly. I can hear her laughing!" She did have a laugh that was truly unique. She was a people person and those who met her for the first time would fall in love with her loving, caring, and accepting personality. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Rest in Peace Molly.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 10:00 AM at San Salvador Catholic Church, 169 West L Street, Colton, CA.
