Save the date Concert: The University of La Verne music department hosts a concert by Grammy Award-winning conductor and pianist Grant Gershon and his wife, soprano Elisa Johnston, 6p.m. April 14at the Ann and Steve Morgan Auditorium, 1950Third St., La Verne. The program is part of the Sundays at the Morgan Concert Series. Admission is a $20suggeste­d donation, free for students with ID.

Concert: Pomona College music department presents organist William Peterson in recital, 8 p.m. in Bridges Hall of Music, 150E. Fourth St., Claremont. The concert will feature music from the World War I era, including music by Louis Vierne, Camille Saint-saëns, Joseph Jongen and Jacques Ibert. Free.

Farmers markets: The city of Fontana, in conjunctio­n with the Family Market Co., offers a farmers market 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sundays in the aquatics center parking lot at Fontana Park, 15556 Summit Ave.; and 2-7 p.m. Thursdays in the Don Day Neighborho­od Center parking lot at Southridge Park, 14501 Live Oak Ave. Concert: The Pomona College music department presents “Fête musicale,” a program featuring solo, chamber and jazz performanc­es by faculty and friends of the music department, 3 p.m. in Bridges Hall of Music, 150E. Fourth St., Claremont. Lifestream blood drive:

The city of Chino Hills hosts a Lifestream blood drive noon-5 p.m. at the Government Center parking lot, 14077 Peyton Drive. Donors receive a free mini-physical, including readings for blood pressure, pulse, cholestero­l levels, iron level and temperatur­e, with results being posted on the donor’s private online portal. Writers group: The San Dimas Writers Group meets 1p.m. Wednesdays at San Dimas Senior Center, 201 E. Bonita Ave., San Dimas. The group is open to published writers and anyone else interested in joining a community of writers. There is no cost to join.
