Vanessa Françoise Rothe—born in Hollywood, California—grew up in the artists’ colony of Laguna Beach, California, and was the daughter to a well-known German clothing designer to the stars. She won the senior art contest at Laguna Beach High School and received art merit scholarshi­ps for university. Rothe honored in business/marketing and French literature at the University of San Diego, University of CA, Irvine then went on to study classical fine art at Laguna College of Art and Design receiving dean’s list honors throughout.

After working as an art director for Walter Foster Publishing and serving as the Disney liaison, she started exhibiting her oil painting work at Wendt Gallery in California. She has had successful solo exhibition­s and is proud to be exhibiting her paintings alongside top realist and impression­ist artists in group shows throughout the world in galleries such as Abend Gallery, California Museum of Fine Art, Galerie Prince de l’oeil, The Salmagundi Club NYC and Arcadia Contempora­ry.

She is a Signature member of the American Impression­ist Society and has owned and operated her own fine art gallery for the last 10 years in California: Vanessa Rothe Fine Art. She is a published author with her book The Art School Approach: Still lifes & Florals. Rothe has been curating top internatio­nal exhibition­s in Los Angeles, NYC and Paris including the famed Americans in Paris and Realism Without Borders events and exhibition­s. Rothe is also a freelance writer and fine art curator.
