Ongoing NIH GIFT SHOP
The Northern Inyo Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop, in the lobby of the hospital, is now open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. The shop carries a wonderful selection of baby clothes and accessories, unique gifts and is the only place in town that sells See’s Candy. The shop accepts credit cards.
FRIENDS OF THE INYO
Friends of the Inyo’s summer calendar of free outdoor educational and volunteering events throughout Mono and Inyo counties is up on the Events tab of its website, friendsoftheinyo.org/ events, and is full of offerings to the public that include interpretive hikes, half-day volunteer cleanup events and multi-day backcountry stewardship events, nature-based yoga, and desert campouts. Most events have a limit of attendees to keep group sizes manageable and ensure a quality experience in nature while respecting habitat, therefore, early signup is encouraged.
WILDLIFE PROGRAMS OUTDOORS
Wildcare Eastern Sierra offers free outdoor education programs in its yard when weather allows. Hawks, raven, snakes, birds, reptiles; nests, feathers, bones, rocks, shells, more. Families, small groups, clubs: call the center at (760) 872-1487 to schedule date.

SWEARING-IN CEREMONY
The Inyo County Clerk/Recorder and Registrar of Voters Office would like to inform the public that there will be a swearing-in ceremony for the following elected offices: County Superintendent of Schools, Supervisor, First District, Supervisor, Third District, Assessor, Auditor, Coroner, County Clerk-Recorder, District Attorney, Public Administrator/ Public Guardian, Sheriff, and TreasurerTax Collector at noon at the Historic Courthouse Courtroom, top floor located at 168 N. The Inyo County Consolidated Office Building will officially be dedicated to the memory of the late Inyo County Chief Administrative Officer Clint Quilter with a plaque unveiling at 9 a.m. The office building is located at 1360 N.
Main St., Bishop. There will be guest speakers and light refreshments. All are welcome.

FREEDOM FROM SMOKING
Inyo County will be offering a free 8-week Freedom From Smoking cessation class beginning Jan. 9 until Feb. 27, 6 - 7:30 p.m. Classes will be held at the Inyo County Consolidated Office Building in Bishop. Pre-registration is required by calling (760) 872-1886 and a commitment to complete all eight weeks of the course.
