The Inyo County Board of Supervisors will hold a special meeting beginning at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24.

The board will recess to closed session, with a scheduled return to open session at 9 a.m.

The board will receive departmental overviews from the Public Works and Health and Human

Services departments, and, at 11 a.m., host a public hearing on behalf of CalFire.

The agency is gathering feedback on updates made to the statewide Fire Hazard Safety Zones map, which ranks rural, unincorporated areas based on the likelihood they will experience wildfire.

The meeting will be held in the Board Chambers at the County Administrative Center in Independence, 224 N. Edwards St.
