Ongoing GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP

NIH GIFT SHOP
The Northern Inyo Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop, in the lobby of the hospital, is now open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. The shop carries a wonderful selection of baby clothes and accessories, unique gifts and is the only place in town that sells See’s Candy. The shop accepts credit cards.
SCAMP FOR TEENS (AIRCRAFT CLUB)
For teens interested in flying, engineering, aircraft construction and technology, the SCAMP Program is looking for a few more interested teens to help the club build and fly its next airplane. The group has already built most of the Airframs and are getting ready to install the engine and avionics. Club members also go flying where the teens get an opportunity to take the controls of a general aviation aircraft. Flash Foxy, a women’s climbing organization, will be offering a winter introduction to “trad climbing” on Jan. 28 and Jan. 29 in Bishop, which will cover the essentials of traditional climbing for beginners and the more experienced. All courses will be offered on a sliding scale starting at $50/

Every Saturday the Bishop Area Climbing Rangers will be serving free Black Sheep Coffee at the Pleasant Valley “Pit” Campground from 8 - 10 a.m. Come out and meet the rangers, Matthew and Casey, and enjoy a hot cup of coffee. This program will continue through March.
ALABAMA HILLS RANGER PROGRAMS
Learn about the natural history of the Alabama Hills with Bureau of Land Management rangers from 2 - 4 p.m. Meet at the Mobius Trailhead Parking Lot, 1.5 miles north on Movie Flat Road from Whitney Portal Road. Children need to be accompanied by adults. Wear sturdy walking shoes, be prepared for weather changes, bring water and snacks. Program may be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather.

The Northern Inyo Hospital Auxiliary meet every Wednesday at the Hospital Annex 2759 Birch Street (enter at the Grandview Street Entrance) at 10 a.m. The second Wednesday of the month is a General Meeting. Other Wednesdays are devoted to making crafts for the annual Holiday Boutique. The Bishop Trout Rodeo, organized by the Southwest Council Fly Fishers International and supported by the Bishop Chamber of Commerce, is a catch-and release event for both fly fishers and conventional fishers.
