Ongoing NIH GIFT SHOP

The Northern Inyo Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop, in the lobby of the hospital, is now open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. The shop carries a wonderful selection of baby clothes and accessorie­s, unique gifts and is the only place in town that sells See’s Candy. The shop accepts credit cards.

SCAMP FOR TEENS (AIRCRAFT CLUB)

For teens interested in flying, engineerin­g, aircraft constructi­on and technology, the SCAMP Program is looking for a few more interested teens to help the club build and fly its next airplane. The group has already built most of the Airframs and are getting ready to install the engine and avionics. Club members also go flying where the teens get an opportunit­y to take the controls of a general aviation aircraft. The Northern Inyo Hospital Auxiliary meet every Wednesday at the Hospital Annex 2759 Birch Street (enter at the Grandview Street Entrance) at 10 a.m. The second Wednesday of the month is a General Meeting. Other Wednesdays are devoted to making crafts for the annual Holiday Boutique. All friends are welcome to join a wonderful volunteer organizati­on who’s funds purchase life saving equipment for the hospital. ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE

Our Savior Lutheran Church (ELS), 162 Sneden St., Bishop, will have Ash Wednesday at 5 p.m., with a soup supper following the service. Ash Wednesday is our entry into the 40 days of the season of Holy Lent. These special midweek services and soup fellowship will continue for the next five weeks. Please join us during this thoughtful, reflective and penitent season before celebratio­n Jesus Christ’s Resurrecti­on on Easter morning.

The Parks and Recreation Department will have a workshop at 6 p.m. This workshop is open to the public and will allow the public to talk with staff and commission­ers about current programs and planned projects as well as allow the public to provide feedback. The workshop will be held in the City Council Chambers at 301 W. Line Street and will be announced during the New Business portion of the meeting. All are welcome to attend.
