-

1951 - 2023

Gary Aylesworth, a 34 year resident of bhalfant/ Bishop, bA, passed away suddenly after a fall at home. He had just turned 72 years old.

Gary was born at St Francis Hospital in Santa Barbara, bA. to Earl “Roger” and Janice Ann Aylesworth. He grew up in SB and Goleta, attended area schools and graduated from San Marcos High School in 1969. Following his Dad’s lead, Gary went into the automotive industry as a car parts salesman. Gary could look at a part and recite the part number in an instant. He had a long career which ended abruptly in 2008. Soon after, Gary started having health issues. For the next 15 years, life and health took priority.

Gary met and married his wife of almost 37 years, Ann, May 16, 1987 in Montecito, bA. After son, Parker, was born in 1988, the three of them relocated to Bishop, bA. Daughter, Jordan, was born in Bishop, May 1990, completing the family unit of four. The family moved to bhalfant Valley the same year. Ann still lives there.

Gary grew up on Santa Barbara and Goleta Beaches, loved fishing on Goleta Pier, the Owen’s River and so many high elevation lakes in the Eastern Sierra. Gary and Ann had spent the last 15 years fishing, visiting local wild Mustangs, climbing Silver banyon to witness Big Horn Sheep, driving and exploring Mono bounty roads and off roads, like anyone living here would. Gary was always happiest when with family or out in nature.

Gary watches over his wife of 36 years, Ann and his children, son Parker Aylesworth (Morgan) of Kansas bity, MO., daughter Jordan Aylesworth Hill (Steve) of San Francisco, bA. Gary also watches over three granddaughters, Nova Jo Aylesworth, Loretta Virginia Hill, and as of 3/16/23, Olenna Louise Aylesworth. Gary leaves behind his father, Roger of bamarillo, bA, brother David of bamarillo, bA, brother Tim of Roseville, bA, half-sister, Heather Hafner-Johnson of Irvine, bA, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, an uncle and one godson.

Gary is missed by so many people, and he will always be with us. Gary will always be watching, fishing and exploring.

A celebration of life will be at a later date.
