Ongoing GIFTS FOR SKILLED NURSING RESIDENTS

Those interested in donating funds to purchase holiday gifts for Skilled Nursing residents at Southern Inyo Hospital in Lone Pine can drop off cash or checks made out to “Southern Inyo Hospital Donation Acct.” (memo line: SNF residents) at Southern Inyo Hospital Administra­tion Office; or mail to: Southern Inyo Hospital; Attn: Ritz Perkins; PO Box 1009, Lone Pine, CA, 93545. Donation will be accepted through Dec. 15.

INYO COUNTY TOY SHOP

Families who are in need of a holiday gift for their child or children can pick up a free present at the Clint Quilter Consolidat­ed Building, 1360 N. Main St., Bishop, or the Lone Pine Consolidat­ed Building 310 N. Jackson St., Lone Pine. The Lone Pine Toy Shop will be open from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Dec. 18 and Dec. 19. HOSPICE CHRISTMAS GIFT TREE RAFFLE

Raffle tickets to benefit Hospice of the Owens Valley are on sale now featuring a prize worth move than $1,200 from contributi­ons from various local businesses. Participat­ing businesses include Rainbow Pack Outfitters, Starbucks,Bishop Twin Theatre, Aerocycle, Sage to Summit, local grocery stores and more. The winner will be drawn on Dec. 19. SENIOR CENTER CANDY SALE

The Bishop Senior Center Recreation Committee will be selling See’s candy and homemade peanut brittle for the holidays. The See’s candy come in a wide assortment and there will also be peanut brittle available, made at the Senior Center, limited to four bags per customer; Monday Friday, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Bishop Senior Center, 682 Spruce St. (behind Bishop City Park). Cash or checks accepted (sorry, no credit cards). All proceeds go toward programs/activities at the Bishop Senior Center.

SENIOR CENTER GIFT WRAPPING

The Bishop Senior Center Recreation Committee’s annual Christmas gift-wrapping fundraiser provides complete wrapping services, including boxes, wrapping, bows, tags, etc. Drop off gifts, usually wrapped and ready for pickup the same day. Pricing based on size of package. Cash or checks accepted; 10 a.m – noon; 1 – 4 p.m., Monday, Dec. 18 through Saturday, Dec. 23, Bishop Senior Center, 682 Spruce St., behind the Bishop City Park.

BUTTERMILK RESTROOMS OPENING

The Eastern Sierra Council of Government­s will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Buttermilk public restrooms at noon to commemorat­e this regional partnershi­p and investment in sustainabl­e recreation and stewardshi­p infrastruc­ture. The ribbon cutting will be held at the installati­on location in the main parking lot of the Buttermilk Boulders. Carpooling is encouraged as parking is limited.

IC BOARD OF EDUCATION

ESLT HOLIDAY MIXER

The Eastern Sierra Land Trust (ESLT), 250 N. Monday, Dec. 25 BISHOP COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS DAY DINNER

Everyone is welcome to Christmas Day dinner from 2-5 p.m. at the Eastern Sierra Tri-County Fairground­s’ Heritage Arts Building. There will be a free full-course holiday dinner and attendees are asked to bring a favorite dessert to share for the dessert pot luck. Wine and beer will be available from Friends of the Fair.
