falconers who participate in the sport of falconry.
In addition, on Wednesday, Jan. 17, CHC, in conjunction with the Bishop Chamber of Commerce, will host a free public mixer from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Heritage Arts Building at the Tri-County Fairgrounds.
Drinks and snacks will be provided, and attendees can participate in a raffle and raptor photo opportunity to support the club’s conservation efforts.
If you have ever been interested in learning about the sport of falconry and have a desire to see a variety of birds of prey up close, you will not want to miss this gathering.
The guest speaker for the evening will be Jason Reid, chairman of the International Eagle Austringers Association, who will be speaking on “How to obtain a passage golden eagle.” He also will explain the lottery, trapping and general requirements for obtaining an eagle.
The California Hawking Club was formed in 1971 by a small group of dedicated falconers to preserve and promote the public image of the art of falconry and to assist in the conservation of birds of prey and to collect and disseminate information to the public.
