Tuesday, Jan. 9 COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISOR­S

The Inyo County Board of Supervisor­s meets in regular session at 10 a.m. with the agenda available at the county website, www.inyocounty. us. The meeting will be held in the Board Chambers at the County Administra­tive Center in Independen­ce, 224 N. AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY

SIHD REGULAR MEETING

The Southern Inyo Healthcare District Board of Directors will hold a regular meeting at 4:30 p.m. at 501 E. Locust Street in Lone Pine. A teleconfer­ence number will be available and the agenda will be available at www. sihd.org. The district encourages citizens to attend board meetings to stay updated on important community issues.

BIG PINE SCHOOL BOARD

Big Pine Unified School District Board of Trustees meeting will be at 6 p.m. in the BPUSD Conference Building on the school campus. All are welcome. Check the posted agenda on the district website, www.bigpinesch­ools.org.

BIG PINE COMMUNITY ASSOCIATIO­N

The Big Pine Community Associatio­n (aka Big Pine Civic Club) will be meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Big Pine Town Hall. Items for discussion will be updates from Inyo County representa­tives and upcoming community events.

BISHOP CREEK CSD

The Bishop Creek Water Associatio­n will meet at 7 p.m. at the Inyo County Office of Education/Jill Kinmont Boothe School facility, 166 Grandview Drive, Bishop, in the George Lozito Conference Center (northwest conner of the property). The meeting will also be conducted via Zoom. Instructio­ns for participat­ion in the meeting can be found on the Associatio­n’s website (www.bishopcree­kwater.org) with the meeting agenda. Wednesday, Jan. 10 STRATEGIC PLANNING WORKSHOP

The Inyo County Board of Supervisor­s will host a strategic planning workshop at 9 a.m. in the Board Chambers, County Administra­tive Center, Independen­ce. The meeting will also be available via Zoom at https://zoom.us/j/868254781. An online survey is now open for members of the public to provide informatio­n, ideas, and feedback on potential projects and which efforts should be prioritize­d, as the board of supervisor­s works to determine where resources should be focused over the next several years. NIH AUXILIARY

The Northern Inyo Hospital Auxiliary meet every Wednesday at the Hospital Annex 2759 Birch Street (enter at the Grandview Street Entrance) at a.m. The second Wednesday of the month is a General Meeting. Other Wednesdays are devoted to making crafts for the annual Holiday Boutique. All friends are welcome to join a wonderful volunteer organizati­on who’s funds purchase life saving equipment for the hospital. Saturday, Jan. 13 CALICO QUILTERS FREE CLASS

The Calico Quilters Guild is offering a free workshop for the community, where participan­ts can learn the elements of patchwork design and constructi­on. The workshop will be at 10 a.m. in the Patio Building at the TriCounty Fairground­s. To participat­e, you will need a portable sewing machine, know how it operates and how to sew a straight seam. Bishop VFW Auxiliary Post 8988 is serving breakfast from 9–11 a.m. at 484 Short St. The menu will be chicken fried steak, country potatoes, eggs to order, biscuits and gravy, coffee, orange juice and hot chocolate, all for a donation of $15 for adults, children 12 years and younger eat for half price. The California Hawking Club will be holding its annual falconry meet at the Tri County Fairground­s Jan. 17-20.
