are interested in fostering community growth and supporting local charities.

Organizers stated that this is more than a meeting – “it’s a one-hour of philanthropy and community building.”

Attendees will enjoy the opportunity to network starting at 5 p.m. with a cash bar, followed by the main event at 5:30 p.m., when local charities will share their inspiring stories and the meaningful work they do.

100 Women Who Care Eastern Sierra is a simple concept: one hour, one hundred dollars, one great cause. Every member’s vote helps select a nonprofit that receives the collective donation, making an immediate and significant impact in the community.

“We believe that strong communities are built by those who care and act,” said Darlene Schuetz, a founding member of the group “Every new member amplifies our impact. If you have a heart for giving and a desire to learn more about the incredible work being done in our backyard, we warmly invite you to join us. Whether you’re new to the area, seeking to make a difference, or want to be part of something bigger, your presence is valued and your contribution vital.”

How it works According to the group’s website, here is how the organization works:

• Commitment – Pledge for one year. This entails attending four one-hour meetings annually and committing $100 per meeting, all of which goes directly to carefully chosen non-profit organizations dedicated to bettering Inyo and Mono counties.

• Nominate and advocate – At each quarterly meeting, three members get five minutes to passionately present their chosen charity followed by a brief Q & A session.

• Vote and empower – Every member casts a written ballot, selecting her preferred non-profit from the presentations. The charity with the most votes receives the combined contributions. Every member pens a $100 check, which is collectively handed over in one symbolic “gift bag.”
