Inyo Register

District 2 supervisor

-

Inyo County is like a large corporation. We the citizens are the stockholders, supervisors are the board of directors, and the CAO is the president. We as stockholders expect our president and board of directors to act in a responsible way to protect our assets and give us the best return on our investment.

Some of the decisions that a current supervisor was on board for did not end in the favor of the stockholders. The decision of a previous CAO and county counsel to sue DWP over water rights cost us citizens $650,000. Did anyone get fired for this debacle? No, it was treated as business as usual. Where was District 2 supervisor?

Next we have the ambulance issue that involved five county supervisors that cost us $1,000,000 in annual payroll . They drug this out for an unreasonable length of time without the best outcome. Was anyone held responsible? No!

Most recently we have the Business Development Resource center by SWLLC. We the stockholders have invested thousands of dollars with no return. Again, nobody is being held responsible.

We the stockholders are entitled to a forensic audit on where the money went. You would expect with roughly 16 years of experience, Jeff (Griffiths) would have some serious questions about these issues. Business as usual. Now do you really think that with this background as the president of the California State Association of Counties he would truly be concerned about the issues of this county. The man is a politician that is concerned about what is best for his future.
