TRI-VALLEY GROUNDWATE­R MANAGEMENT DISTRICT

Tri-Valley Groundwate­r Management District and its board of directors intends to a vacancy on its board by appointmen­t at its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 28 to be held at 123B Valley Road, Chalfant. This is an at large seat position. Persons interested in being considered for this appointmen­t to the board must be a resident and owner of record of real property located within the district and must be a registered voter. Interested persons need to be willing to participat­e in monthly meetings involving groundwate­r issues within the district, come to meetings prepared to participat­e in agenda items, respond to emails from other directors, and be willing to accept additional assignment­s on occasion. Interested persons are encouraged to provide a letter of interest to the Secretary of the Board of Directors via U.S. mail to TVGMD, 123B Valley Rd., Chalfant, CA 93514 or via email to secretary@tvgmd.org to be received no later than 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

Big Pine American Legion Auxiliary Glacier Unit 457 will be holding a free Valentine luncheon at noon in the Big Pine Town Hall on Dewey Street. All veterans, their families, and Auxiliary members are encouraged to attend. In addition to a delicious lunch, their will be Valentines and door prizes.

Friday, Feb. 9 OHV OPEN HOUSE FOR PUBLIC, STAKEHOLDE­RS

The Adventure Trail System of the Eastern Sierra (ATS) is having a public meeting, inviting interested area residents and interested area stakeholde­rs to stop by the Inyo County Building conference room to look at and comment on the organizati­on’s grant funding proposal. The public meeting is from 5 - 6 p.m. and the stakeholde­rs meeting is set for 6 - 7 p.m. The organizati­on is requesting grant funds from the California Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division to enhance and maintain motorized recreation in the Coyote area. Preliminar­y grant applicatio­ns will be submitted March 4. The public can comment on these applicatio­ns from March 5 through April 4. Final applicatio­ns must be submitted by May. The Bishop Trout Rodeo returns to the Eastern Sierra Tri-County Fairground­s. This will be a trout tournament for both fly fishers and convention­al fishers. Tuesday, Feb. 13 BIG PINE COMMUNITY ASSOCIATIO­N POTLUCK

The Big Pine Community Associatio­n will be hosting a potluck at the Big Pine Town Hall on Dewey Street starting at 5:30 p.m.; bring your favorite main or side dish to share. February is National Carrot Cake month, once again, BPCA will conduct their annual carrot cake competitio­n. The festivitie­s will continue with the announceme­nt of the 2024 Big Pine Citizen of the Year. Two special honors will be presented this year to two outstandin­g Big Pine citizens. The regular Big Pine Community Associatio­n business meeting will then convene with community event announceme­nts and Inyo County reports.

The Northern Inyo Hospital Auxiliary meet every Wednesday at the Hospital Annex 2759 Birch Street (enter at the Grandview Street Entrance) at 10 a.m. The second Wednesday of the month is a General Meeting. Other Wednesdays are devoted to making crafts for the annual Holiday Boutique. All friends are welcome to join a wonderful volunteer organizati­on who’s funds purchase life saving equipment for the hospital.
