NIHD Rehabilitation Services hosts open house today
Event to spotlight new location
Northern Inyo Healthcare District (NIHD) invites the public to attend an open house for its Rehabilitation Services from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.
The event will spotlight the rehabilitation team’s new location in the
Pioneer Medical Building, 152 Pioneer Lane, Suites B&C, Bishop, right behind the Diagnostic Imaging building on the north side of the NIHD campus.
The new location offers the rehab team better patient space. It also brings their service closer to Pediatric Rehabilitation, Northern Inyo Associates Orthopedic Clinic, and the hospital itself for inpatient care.
Eight therapists comprise the rehab team – five physical therapists and three occupational therapists – all with extensive training in their areas of expertise.
Director of Rehabilitation Joanne Henze leads the team, comprised of physical therapists Lorelei Dennis,

Dana Georgeson, Tyler Honeyman, and Andrew Stewart, and occupational therapists Monica Jones, Jotenda “Jai” Ranabhat, and Lauren Dudley. Henze said recruitment is underway for a speech therapist to round out the team’s services.
NIHD’s Chief Executive Officer, Stephen DelRossi, expressed excitement about the new location: “Our new Rehabilitation Services location represents our commitment to providing high-quality care and convenient access to essential services for our community,” DelRossi said. “We look forward to showcasing the new location and meeting with our patients and community members at the open house.”
Dr. Adam Hawkins, NIHD’s Chief Medical Officer, emphasized the current rehab team’s level of expertise.
“We are very proud of our team of highly-skilled therapists,” Dr. Hawkins said. “Each brings years of education, certifications, and a wide range of rehabilitation experiences to the district. They are very dedicated to providing personalized care and helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals. It is our hope that this new location not only serves our patients well, but also our team.”

al, or speech therapists as a result of a physician’s order.
