TRI-VALLEY GROUNDWATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT
Tri-Valley Groundwater Management District and its board of directors intends to a vacancy on its board by appointment at its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 28 to be held at 123B Valley Road, Chalfant. This is an at large seat position. Persons interested in being considered for this appointment to the board must be a resident and owner of record of real property located within the district and must be a registered voter. Interested persons need to be willing to participate in monthly meetings involving groundwater issues within the district, come to meetings prepared to participate in agenda items, respond to emails from other directors, and be willing to accept additional assignments on occasion. KEELER WALKING TOUR
The Friends of the Eastern California Museum and KEEPS (Keeler Early Era Preservation Society) will host “Keeler. . .Then and Now,” a walking tour, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. This historic walking tour will explore the rich mining and railroading history of Keeler, its contributions to Inyo County’s economy, its characters, and the efforts of KEEPS to preserve the Keeler Plunge. Included in the day’s activities will be a visit to Keeler’s resident artist/ painter Dan Dickman’s studio. ESLT FIELD TRIP
The Eastern Sierra Land Trust will be hosting a free, educational field trip about the iconic Round Valley mule deer herd from 2 - 4 p.m. This trip highlights the herd’s seasonal journey between winter valleys and summer mountain meadows, navigating through the challenging Swall Meadows passage.
Led by CA Department of Fish & Wildlife biologist Dan Taylor, the trip offers insights into the deer’s migration, the conservation efforts in place, and the challenges faced.
