Pam and her mother moved to June Lake, CA when she was 4 years old. They lived with her grandfather, Joseph Utter. Pam spent most of her young life in Inyo County. Upon graduating from Bishop High School, Pam moved to Long Beach, CA gaining employment at the young age of 18.

Pam married her first husband, Verel Goodnight in 1959, moving to the Goodnight family farm in Kansas where she learned farm living, canning many delicious home-grown vegetables and fruit.

Pam had a son, Ty Goodnight, Pam’s joy of life. Ty was one of the famous “Marlboro” men on TV commercials. Ty also worked with various non-profit organizations.

Pam met Robert (Bob) Wallis in 1979 and married the next year. The couple made Bishop their home in 1992. They were employed in the hospitality industry in Motel Management for more than 25 years. Upon retirement from Motel Management, Pam became employed by the City of Bishop as a clerk in the Bishop Police Department and City Hall.

Pam was a member of the Presbyterian Church before converting to Catholicism at the Easter Vigil Mass on March 26, 2016, at OLPH. She met many wonderful people and enjoyed attending the once-a-month ladies’ social luncheon with her OLPH friends.

Pam loved collecting special “treasures” at local Bishop Yard Sales. Every Saturday morning her “crew” of best buds could be seen on the streets of Bishop, many times as early as 6:00 a.m. their “course” of sales being mapped out ahead of time. The highlight of the adventure would be breakfast following the sales.

Volunteering brought happiness for Pam – you would find her helping out during Mule Days. She was a member of the Northern Inyo Hospital Auxiliary which met weekly making craft items for their Holiday Bazaar. Pam’s father was a member of the Masons and Pam thoroughly enjoyed being a “cashier” at their annual Christmas sale. Prior to the sale, Pam could be found in her kitchen preparing her famous Banana Bread and delicious pies.

In June 2023 Pam moved to El Paso, Texas to begin a new adventure in life with close friends of 40+ years, Ray and Jan Russell.

Pam is survived by her brother, Charles (Chuck) Cooley and wife Donna, stepson Robert (Wally) Wallis and wife Terrie, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
